Christmas is one of the best times of the year for most people. It’s full of lights, long nights by the fire, twinkling trees, stockings hung in a row, early morning presents, and time with family and friends. It’s a happy time, and a time to be grateful for the blessings in our lives.
It’s easy to forget that for many people, though, Christmas is a very difficult time. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a roof over their head, warm clothes to bundle up in, and food to put on the table. Christmas can be a very cold and sometimes cruel time of the year, especially in Nebraska, which is why we’re trying to change that!
We’ve teamed up with Bright Horizons of Norfolk, a non-profit that provides support and shelter to victims of domestic and sexual violence. They’re currently running their Warm Heart Warm Hands campaign, collecting donations of gloves, mittens, and hats from people in the local community to help those in need.
We’ll be collecting donations for Warm Hearts Warm Hands in our office until December 4th, and we urge everyone to drop by with a donation. The cost for one pair of gloves is so small, but the value of keeping a child’s hands warm this Christmas is priceless. Help make a difference this Christmas!
