We all know the drill. A New Year comes around, and we are all ecstatic about the resolutions we’ve made to ourselves. You start out the first month strong, keeping your resolution on track. Then, come February, you kind of let it slip through the cracks. This happens to so many people when it comes to resolutions. Don’t let this year be the same, keep your resolutions with these 3 simple steps.
1.) Plan, Plan, Plan
Something that most people neglect to do is actually plan out how you will make a resolution work. Planning out the exact steps of how you will make it work is the best way to actually stick to a resolution. For example, if your resolution is to go to the gym more, write out a timeline of how, when, and where you will go to the gym.
2.) Give yourself small victories
Throughout the year, give yourself a pat on the back. Say you went to the gym every day for the week, celebrate by doing something you love to do. Keep doing this, and you will never want to stop performing your resolution.
3.) It’s ok to give yourself a break
A lot of the time when people have a resolution they get into this mentality of they HAVE to do it no matter what. That’s not necessarily true. If you feel burnt out, or just want a break from what you’re doing, take it. It will feel good to know that you can come back to your resolution with fresh eyes.
